„Filip Machač’s series captures their everyday life in Thessaloniki and its surroundings, following a recent move from Berlin. For the photographer, this period marked a time when photography became, and remains, an essential tool for interacting with both the familiar and the unfamiliar aspects of their environment. Through the lens, they explore the transformation of the unknown into the known, and conversely, how the known can shift into the unknown.
Framing the Here and Now
This process is described as a mental and physical dialogue—an ongoing exchange between the individual and their surroundings. Each movement, each act of photographing, serves to sustain and deepen this dialogue, bridging the present moment with the immediate here and now“
